New York Flea Market Business

The New York flea market business, as well
as the overall flea market business, can
help you keep your head above water,
even in a recession.

If you have recently lost your job,
are just not making enough money,
you should strongly consider selling at
flea markets.

The barrier to entry is very low.

To start selling at flea markets
all you need is a resale tax id number
which can be obtained from your
state.

If you are located in New York state,
you can use this link to obtain a sales
tax id number.

http://www.tax.state.ny.us/pdf/2009/st/st809_1009.pdf

While I always recommend starting with as much merchandise
as possible, you can start by buying a small amount of
wholesale merchandise.

As your flea market sales take off, you can always
buy more wholesale products.

Remember that flea market shoppers are attracted to
booths that have allot of merchandise.

The more merchandise at your flea market booth, the
more customer attention you will receive.

Renting a spot at a flea market is relatively inexpensive,
with most New York flea markets charging between
$50 to $80 for a spot.

You can receive further discounts on the rent by
pre paying for monthly spot.

If $80 sounds like allot of money for a single day
at the flea market, think of how many potential customers
you can sell to.

Some flea markets like Aqueduct attract over 3,000 people a
day.

Sell something to 100 of those people, and you will be
on your way to having a very profitable flea market business.

Below is a list of from keysfleamarket.com of the most popular flea markets in
New York, including their days of operation.

How do you go about getting a table at a flea market who do you contact. I'd like to get one at Fordham Plaza in the Bronx who would I contact first?
