The recent popularity of the television series Auction Hunters and Storage Wars has demonstrated to many people the potential finds that they can locate at storage room auctions. While most storage rooms contain used clothing, toys, and assorted housewares, you can find willing customers at flea markets provided that the items are in decent condition and priced right. Although this is isn’t what most people imagine when they think of wholesale products, the items you buy can give you surprisingly good profit margins.
Another idea is to visit flea market venues such as the Biannual Evanston flea market , Portland Flea, Vineville Flea Market, Big K Weekly Flea Market/Craft Fair or any other swap meet that is located close to you. You can wait for the market to close and then approach vendors and offer to buy their unsold merchandise.
When I sold at the Aqueduct flea market in Queens I used to try to sell my unsold wholesale socks and T-shirts at bulk prices which were sometimes pretty close to my cost, so I know this strategy can work. If a vendor has had an amazing day of sales he will be happy to make a few extra dollars, and if a vendor has had a tough day, he will be happy just to cover his daily rent.
Sincerely,
